2014:NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for spring semester. Started all seven games played at rover. Made an immediate impact after injuries kept him off the field his first two years. Finished sixth on the team with 54 tackles, with 25 solo and 29 tackle assists, including 8.5 tackles for a loss of 27 yards, with 2.0 sacks for a loss of 15, an interception, two pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, a fumble recovery and blocked kick. Of his 54 tackles, 33 came against the rush, 17 against the pass and one each on punt and kickoff coverage. Played six NE-10 games and recorded 47 stops (20 solo), including 5.5 for a loss of 23 yards, 2.0 sacks for a loss of 15, an interception, two breakups, a hurry, fumble recovery and blocked kick. Registered 30 tackles (18 solo), including 7.5 for a loss of 20 yards, 1.0 sacks for a loss of eight, a breakup, hurry, fumble recovery and blocked kick in four September games. High School: 2012 graduate of Cornwall High School. Two year letterwinner for coach Marcus Hughes. Earned All-Section and All-League first team honors as a junior and senior. Named second team All-State and All-County as a senior, when he was also named Section 9 Back of the Year. Named MVP of the JV team as a sophomore. Also lettered in baseball.

Personal: Born November 28, 1993, in Nyack, N.Y. Son of Laurie Catal and Peter Catal of Cornwall, N.Y. Has two brothers, Daniel (15) and Kevin (14). Majoring in accounting, with a minor in health care administration. Supports the New York Knicks. Lists Devin Hester as a favorite athlete.
