Equestrian Takes Second at Endicott Show

GEORGETOWN, Massachusetts (March 7, 2020) – The Stonehill College equestrian team finished in second place at the Endicott College show on Saturday, at the Autumn Sky Farm in Georgetown, Massachusetts. The Skyhawks finished second in the region in their final show of the 2019-20 season.

  • Stonehill was able to qualify two more Skyhawks for regionals, as Kyle Katz will be competing in intermediate fences and flat, while Catherine Souza will be riding in intermediate fences.
  • Emma McConville , who earned her third high point rider of the season, took home first place in open fences and flat. She earned her fifth and sixth blue ribbons of the season.
  • Souza earned a second-place ribbon in intermediate fences, while she also placed fourth in limit flat, as the sophomore went on to qualify for her first regional appearance.
  • Kylie Katz picked up two second-place ribbons, with one in intermediate fence and one in intermediate flat, qualifying the junior for her first appearance at regionals.
  • Haley Whittaker was the only other Skyhawk to finish in first place, as she competed in novice. This was her third first-place ribbon.
  • Senior Kaitlin Kotfila placed second in open fences and fifth in open flat.
  • Shannon Gorsky also earned a second-place finish as she competed in limit fences, while Ariel Goharzadeh competed in limit flat with Souza, as Goharzadeh finished second in the event.
  • Aylin Torres, in her fourth show of her career finished third overall in introductory.
  • Mariah Hanson, Hannah Lennon, Kiley Subklew all finished fourth, as Hanson competed in intermediate flat, Lennon showed in Novice, and Subklew competed in intermediate fences.

Stonehill will take some time off before seven Skyhawks prepare for the IHSA Zone 1, Region 4 Championships at Holly Hill Farm in Hanover, Massachusetts, hosted by Boston University on Saturday, March 28.
