HANOVER, Mass. (April 3, 2017) – Senior Nina Fultz (Littleton, Massachusetts/Littleton) led the Stonehill College equestrian program's five competitors by earning a blue ribbon at Saturday's Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 1, Region 4 Championships hosted by Boston University at Holly Hill Show Stables in Hanover, Massachusetts.

Fultz earned the first place ribbon with her show in novice equitation over fences to qualify for the IHSA Zone 1 Championships this Saturday, April 8, hosted by Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She will be making her first appearance at the Zone 1 Championships and aims to advance to the IHSA National Championships in Lexington, Kentucky, in May.

All five Stonehill riders who qualified for Saturday's regional champions collected ribbons, with senior captain Kristin Buckley (Leominster, Massachusetts/Saint Bernard's) and classmate Micaela Caulkins (Old Lyme, Connecticut/Old Lyme) narrowly missing out on qualifying for the Zone 1 Championships with their third place finishes. Buckley earned a yellow ribbon for walk-trot-canter equitation, while Caulkins did the same for intermediate equitation over fences.

Rounding out Stonehill's ribbon winners on Saturday was senior Kayla McNulty (Tyngsboro, Massachusetts/Academy of Notre Dame) with a sixth place show for walk-trot-canter equitation, while classmate Taylor Uccello (Westford, Massachusetts/Westford Academy) placed seventh for novice equitation on the flat.

Also of note from Saturday, recent Stonehill graduate Danielle Franchi '15 earned a blue ribbon for alumni equitation on the flat and will compete at the Zone 1 Championships this weekend.

In addition to its five ribbon-winners in Saturday's individual competitions, Stonehill officially collected its white ribbon for a fourth place team finish in the region over the course of the season in IHSA Zone 1, Region 4.
