Equestrian Sixth at Boston College Show

McNulty earns blue ribbon for walk-trot-canter to lead Skyhawks

GRAFTON, Mass. (November 5, 2016) – The Stonehill College equestrian team placed sixth at Boston College's home show, hosted by Hillside Meadows Equestrian Center, in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 1, Region 4, today.

Stonehill compiled 23 points for its sixth place finish at the show, which was won by Boston University with 37 points, while Bridgewater State University was second with 35 points. Senior Kayla McNulty (Tyngsboro, Massachusetts/Academy of Notre Dame) turned in the Skyhawks lone blue ribbon performance at the show in beginner walk-trot-canter equitation.

Three Stonehill riders turned in second place finishes, led by junior Baylee Kimbar (Worcester, Massachusetts/West Boylston) for intermediate equitation over fences. She was also sixth for intermediate flat. Senior Micaela Caulkins (Old Lyme, Connecticut/Old Lyme) collected a red ribbon for intermediate flat, while sophomore Rachel Scibek (Colchester, Vermont/Colchester) placed second for her novice class.

Senior co-captain Serafine Torregiano (Saratoga Springs, New York/Saratoga Springs) led Stonehill's fourth place finishers with her performance in open flat. Classmate Nina Fultz (Littleton, Massachusetts/Littleton) placed fourth for novice flat, to go with a sixth place show in novice fences. Senior co-captain Kristin Buckley (Leominster, Massachusetts/Saint Bernard's) was fourth for advanced walk-trot-canter, while classmate Allison Calder (Mansfield, Massachusetts/Mansfield) was fourth in walk-trot.

Stonehill is right back in action on Sunday, when it competes at the Tufts/Wheaton Show.
