NCBWA East Region Hitter and Pitcher of the Week Honors 

EASTON, Massachusetts (April 16, 2019) – Junior pitcher Eddie Magi was recognized as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Pitcher of the Week, announce by the association Tuesday.

Yesterday, the Fairfield, Connecticut native was named the Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career.

In a 2-2 week for the Skyhawks, Magi tossed his first complete game and fourth-career start in a 5-0 shutout over No. 4 Southern New Hampshire University. The victory is just the second shutout of the season for Stonehill as the junior allowed only four hits in 9.0 innings thrown with a career-high eight strikeouts. With the shutout, Magi recorded his fourth-career win.

The junior pitcher has totaled 28.0 innings pitched this season combining for 74.0 in his three seasons with the Skyhawks. He holds a 2.89 ERA this season for a 4.29 ERA overall, while striking out 7.07 strikeouts per seven innings this year and 5.72 in three seasons. He has a 4-6 overall record with three saves and one complete game.

The Fairfield Ludlowe High School graduate played four years of varsity baseball.

Stonehill takes on Bentley University for the second game of the three-game series on today, Tuesday, April 16 with a first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Waltham, Massachusetts on Robert DeFelice Baseball Field. Join the Skyhawks on Wednesday, April 24 as Stonehill hosts Assumption College for the final game of the three-game series with a first pitch slated for 6:00 p.m. at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Massachusetts.
