Baseball’s Roberts Lands on FCBL Second Team

Reading, Mass. Native was named one of seven pitchers to FCBL second team

EASTON, Mass. (September 29, 2016) – Stonehill College senior pitcher Jeremy Roberts (Reading, Mass./Malden Catholic) has earned Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) second team honors for his efforts with the Nashua Silver Knights this summer, as announced by the league last week.

With the Silver Knights, Roberts started and appeared in 10 games, including one playoff game. The senior threw for 57.2 innings, striking out 44 and walking 20. Roberts' overall record was 4-2 during the season, where he averaged 2.97 earned runs. The Nashua Silver Knights went on to win its third FCBL Championship in franchise history this season.

As a junior with Stonehill last spring, Roberts appeared in 12 games, while starting in 11 of them. Roberts concluded the season with a 4-3 record and threw for three complete games, making his collegiate record 8-8. The Reading, Massachusetts native threw in 71.1 innings and tallied a career-best 2.78 earned run average and 52 strikeouts last season.

Roberts' list of accolades include being named to the Northeast-10 Conference Honor Roll in the 2015 fall semester and being voted to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team his freshman year.
