Saturday's Stonehill College baseball Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Southern New Hampshire University, ranked No. 1 in this week's Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II coaches' poll, will be televised live by New England Sports Network's supplemental channels and produced by Pack Network, both Stonehill and Southern New Hampshire's partner in offering live video webcasts of several home athletic events.

Saturday's baseball doubleheader between Stonehill, ranked eighth in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Poll, and Southern New Hampshire, also ranked first in this week's NCBWA Division II Poll and first in the East Region, will be broadcast via NESNplus and NESN National at noon and approximately 3 p.m.

The Stonehill baseball team (23-13, 11-6 NE-10) will look to keep its momentum going as the Skyhawks have rattled off five straight wins and have won 11 of its last 13 games, while Southern New Hampshire (37-3, 14-1 NE-10) is off to its best start ever, having won 19 straight and 23 of its last 24 games.

For Stonehill, which will be playing its first televised games in program history, seniors Brian Campbell (Franklin, Massachusetts/Mount Saint Charles) and Eric Schneider (Camarillo, California/St. Bonaventure) have led the Skyhawks at the plate thus far, hitting .354 and .350, respectively, while sharing the team lead with 24 RBI each. On the mound, junior Jeremy Roberts (Reading, Massachusetts/Malden Catholic) has logged a team leading 56.2 innings to go with 43 strikeouts and a 2.38 ERA. Classmate Aubrey Solomon (Groton, Massachusetts/Lawrence Academy) has been one of the top closers in the conference, as the junior ranks first in the NE-10 with nine saves on the season.           

Southern New Hampshire boasts a balanced attack at the plate, as junior Manny Cruz (Wolcott, Connecticut/Wolcott) and classmate Carson Helms (Farmington, Connecticut/Farmington/Virginia Tech) rank third and fourth in the NE-10 with batting averages of .372 and .371, respectively. Junior Derek Bauer (Millis, Massachusetts/Millis) powers the offense as he currently ranks third in the NE-10 with eight homeruns and first in the conference with 46 RBI. On the mound, senior Tim Viehoff (Derry, New Hampshire/Pinkerton Academy) is the ace of the Penmen staff, ranking first in the conference in wins (8), second in strikeouts (82) and second in ERA (1.65).

With 20 intercollegiate sports, Stonehill boasts one of the top athletic and academic programs in the country. In addition to winning its fifth Northeast-10 Presidents' Cup following the 2014-15 academic year, the Skyhawks have received the NCAA Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Achievement each of the first five years of the program's existence of honoring institutions with an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90-percent or better. Stonehill has earned a 96% Academic Success Ranking (ASR) by the NCAA two straight years, which considers the academic success rate of the institution based on the graduation rate of student-athletes, good for fifth among all NCAA Division II institutions, with 12 Skyhawk teams receiving a perfect rating of 100%. In addition, the Skyhawks are ranked third in the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) Power Rankings for Division II used to assess the academic and athletic standards of all NCAA and NAIA athletic programs. Stonehill has also been selected as the host of the 2016 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships at W.B. Mason Stadium.
