Senior Chris Hoyt (Walpole, Massachusetts/Xaverian Brothers) went 2-for-4 at the plate with a two RBI double in the sixth inning, while classmate Eric Schneider (Camarillo, California/St. Bonaventure) joined Hoyt with two hits, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk, stolen base and run. Junior Steve Lee (Braintree, Massachusetts/Braintree) and senior Brian Hocking (Duxbury, Massachusetts/BC High) each recorded a hit an RBI, while sophomore Alexander Joyce (Newton, Massachusetts/Newton North) and junior Ben Monte (New Haven, Connecticut/Guilford) each went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Klingensmith took the mound for Stonehill and pitched six scoreless innings, giving up five hits while striking out three batters. Senior Mike Krupczak (Springfield, Massachusetts/Cathedral) threw two innings of relief, walking one while striking out a pair. Junior Aubrey Solomon (Groton, Massachusetts/Lawrence Academy) picked up his sixth save of the season, pitching the ninth inning and giving up one unearned run, while striking out a batter.

For Bentley, senior Bryan Rocha (Rehoboth, Massachusetts/Dighton-Rehoboth Reg.) led the way at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run. Graduate Student Mike Muir (Bridgewater, Massachusetts/Xaverian Brothers) went 1-for-3 with a walk, while senior Zachary Littman (Abington, Massachusetts/Abington) finished 1-for-4 with a walk.

Stonehill scored the first run of the game in the bottom of third when Monte led off the inning with a double to left field and sophomore Isiah Nunez (Brooklyn, New York/Berkshire School) dropped down a sacrifice bunt to move him over to third base. Lee then singled through the left side of the infield to score Monte and give the Skyhawks the early advantage.

Senior Mike Krupczak pitched two innings of scoreless reilef today.

Stonehill threatened to add more runs to its lead in the fifth, as they loaded the bases with one out. Nunez and Lee were hit by pitches to put a man on first and second, and Campbell walked to load the bases. Bentley's senior pitcher Will Alden (Westford, Massachusetts/Westford Academy) worked his way out of the jam however, keeping the Falcons within striking distance.

After Joyce doubled to left field and Nunez walked to open the sixth inning, Hoyt laced a double to left field to score both runners and push the Stonehill lead to 3-0. The Skyhawks plated one more run in the seventh as Hocking singled through the left side of the infield to score Schneider from third.

Bentley got on the board in the top of the ninth inning, after Rocha hit a one out double to right field and advanced to third base on a passed ball. Sophomore Mike Samko (Arlington, Massachusetts/Buckingham, Browne & Nichols) then hit the ball on a rope to third base where the fielder couldn't handle it and Rocha came around to score the only run of the game for the Falcons. Solomon was able to finish off the inning without any further damage to preserve the win for the Skyhawks and give the junior closer his sixth save of the season.

Stonehill (15-11, 4-5 NE-10) is back in action tomorrow as the Skyhawks travel to Assumption to take on the Greyhounds for a single contest starting at 3:30 p.m. Bentley (9-17, 4-7 NE-10) returns to the diamond Saturday for a weekend series with Franklin Pierce University starting at noon.
