The Penmen jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning. After a single by Riley Palmer (Goffstown, N.H./Goffstown (Franklin Pierce)), a Bryan Toland (Wildwood, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) walk, and a hit by pitch, Palmer scored on a wild pitch to give SNHU a one-run lead.

SNHU got another run in the top of the fourth inning to make it 2-0. Palmer singled to right field, before stealing second, advancing to third on a groundout, and finally scoring on a wild pitch.

The Skyhawks knotted the game in the bottom of the fourth.
