 General Questions

Are all Stonehill Summer Sports Camps held on the Stonehill College Campus?

Yes.  Each individual Stonehill Sports Camps will be held on the campus of Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts.  Campers will use the same championship level facilities that our athletes use during the academic year.

 

Who runs the Stonehill Sports Camps?

During each week the camp is under the directions of the Stonehill College head coaches.  Administrative tasks (i.e. scheduling, registration, payment, etc.) are handled by the Stonehill Sports Camps/Clinics Coordinator.

 

What is the ratio of counselors/coaches to campers?

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health requires that each camp employs a ratio of 10:1.  However, some camps are as low as 5:1.

 

When does the camp actually start?

After registration there will be a short orientation and the first session will begin following that orientation.

 

Do you take deposits for camp?

Yes.  A nonrefundable deposit of $100 per camp session must accompany the application. The nonrefundable deposit for Stonehill Football Camp is $50 and must also accompany the application. 

 

Are there any exceptions made on grade requirements?

Each camper must meet the grade requirement (entering that grade) by the camp start date.  There are no exceptions.

 

How do I request a refund?  Is there a fee?

All requests for cancellation must be provided in writing two weeks prior to the first day of each camp.  A full refund will be given minus a $100.00 deposit.  No refunds will be provided less than two weeks prior to the start of each camp, regardless of the circumstance. 

Injury or medical refund requests made before 2 weeks of camp, and accompanied by a professional doctors note through fax or regular mail, will result in a refund including $75.00 of the initial $100.00 deposit. Any injury or medical refund request made during the 2 week period prior to the camp will not recieve any of their $100.00 deposit.

Refund requests can be sent via email (stonehillsportscamps@stonehill.edu), fax (508.565.1460), or regular mail.  Phone requests will not be accepted.  All refunds are issued by check.  Please allow 3 - 5 weeks for your refund to be processed.  The request must include: 1. Campers Name 2. Sport (s) Camp 3. Session (dates) enrolled for

 

When does withdrawal from camp result in a full refund?

A full camp refund will be granted if the proper refund protocol is followed (see above) and accompanied by a physician certified document stating the child is not physically able to participate in camp due to illness or injury.

 

What should I pack for overnight camp? 

Always bring any gear you need for your specific sport. Your son or daughter will also need bedding; this can be sheets and a blanket or even a sleeping bag. They will need toiletries such as tooth paste, tooth brush, comb, towel, shower shoes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. We encourage fans, most dorms in the summer do not have AC. If they plan on having a phone at camp, bringing a charger is also encouraged. Lastly, clothes to sleep in and move around campus when not in a sport camp session (ex. shoes to walk to the cafeteria in, other clothes to sleep in, etc). Camp packing lists will be emailed out a few days before the start date of each camp along with a newsletter containing any information you may need to know. Required Form Questions

Are there Release of Liability and Medical Forms Required?

Yes. Every Stonehill Sports Camp is in compliance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and licensed by the City of Easton Board of Health. Each camper must fully provide a Medical Release Form (provided by doctor or standardized camp form) and a Release of Liability form with the proper signatures.

 

Can I fax a copy of the Release of Liability and Health Forms before the first day of camp?

No. The health form must be sent by mail and received by June 15. Faxed forms will not be accepted.

 

Does the Health Form have to be signed by a doctor?

Yes. Every Stonehill Sports Camp is in compliance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and licensed by the City of Easton Board of Health. Each camper must fully complete and submit Medical Release Form (provided by doctor or standardized camp form) and a Release of Liability form with the proper signatures.

 

What happens if I do not submit the Release of Liability and Health Form?

If you do not fill out the forms completely and submit them by June 15, the camper will not be allowed to participate in camp.

 

Are Stonehill Sports Camps in compliance with 105 CMR 430, Minimum Sanitation and Safety Standards for Recreational Camps for children?

Yes. Every camp is in full compliance with health and safety standards set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Town of Easton Board of Health.

Housing and Room Assignment Questions

 

Are roommate requests guaranteed?

No. You may request 1 roommate during the application process but Stonehill College Sports Camps does not guarantee roommate requests or guarantee that entire teams or all campers from a single school will be housed in the same building or on the same floor.

 

Can I call prior to camp and find out rooming assignments?

No. Housing assignments are not done until days before the start of camp. You will receive your rooming assignment upon check-in during registration and at that point you may ask who your roommate will be.

 

How many campers are assigned to a room?

No more than two campers will be assigned to a room.

 

I am flying in the night before camp. Are there housing accommodations available?

There are no housing accommodations available through Stonehill College Sport Camps. However, our office will be happy to provide you with a list of local hotels.

 

How are campers supervised in the residence halls?

Counselors are required to stay overnight for each camp. Counselors are divided up amongst the dormitory to provide adequate supervision throughout the course of camp.

 

Are the residence halls air conditioned?

No. The dormitories at Stonehill College are not air conditioned.  While air conditioning units are not allowed on campus, fans are permitted in all dormitories.

 

How are campers housed in the residence halls?

Campers are housed according to the following criteria:

What is the closest airport to Stonehill College?

Boston’s Logan International and Providence’s T.F. Green Airport are both under an hour from campus.

 

What address should I use to get directions to campus?

Every Stonehill College Sports Camp will be held on the campus of Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. Campers will use the same championship level facilities used by our student-athletes during the academic year.

Is transportation provided by Stonehill College Sports Camps to and from the airport?

No. Stonehill College Sports Camps do not provide transportation to and from the airport.
