EASTON, Massachusetts, (February 15, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's cross country team has earned All-Academic honors for the 2018 season from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while six Skyhawks collected individual All-Academic accolades, as announced by the association on Thursday. This is the 20th honor for the women's team and seventh-straight time the women have earned the recognition.

Senior Makenzie Cyr, juniors Anna Lastra, Alyssa Freeman, and Jordan Callahan, sophomore Sam Curtin, and freshman Rebecca Erhard were recognized for posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher while also finishing among the top-30 percent of total eligible runners at the regional championship or in the top half of the field at the NCAA Championships.

Stonehill was among 231 women's NCAA Division II teams to earn All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA. To qualify for this award, programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and scored at their NCAA regional meet. The Skyhawks captured their 10th-straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship and 17th program title, before grabbing their 19th-consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division II Championships with their 15th NCAA Division II East Regional title. Academically, Stonehill registered a 3.50 GPA through the fall semester.

Cyr, majoring in healthcare administration, has registered a 3.40 GPA over her four years. This year she is a co-captain for the cross country and indoor track & field teams and totaled six top-25 finishes in the seven meets this season. This is her second time being recognized by the USTFCCCA on the All-Academic Team, as she has competed at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships three times. Over the course of her collegiate career, Cyr has been named to the NCAA Division II All-East Region team four times, the NE10 All-Conference first team twice, and NE10 All-Conference second team once. In 2015 she was named the NE10 Cross Country Female Rookie of the Year. The Douglas, Massachusetts native has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll six times, the NE10 Academic Honor Roll five times, and the Dean's List three times.

Lastra, with her 3.83 grade point average in the classroom as she studies health science, collects her third USTFCCCA All-Academic honor. The junior posted four top-15 finishes in six meets this season, including a career-best 64th-place finish in her third NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The Bridgton, Maine native was named the NE10 Cross Country Athlete of the Year after finishing a career-best first place at the NE10 Championships, the Skyhawks' fourth-straight individual title and helping Stonehill to its 17thprogram title and 10th-straight championship. She also assisted Stonehill to its 15th NCAA Division II East Region Title with her career-best runner-up mark. She has combined for 10 NE10 All-Conference honors and eight NCAA Division II All-East Region team recognitions. She has been named to the NE10 All-Academic team three times and earned the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award, while also being named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple times.

Freeman, a junior studying in psychology and criminology, has accumulated a 3.55 GPA over her three years. This season she totaled four top-25 finishes in the six meets that she competed in, as she also ran in her second NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. This is Freeman's second USTFCCCA All-Academic team honor, while she also earned her second NCAA Division II All-East Region team recognition this season. With her career-best finish at the NE10 Championships, Freeman earned her second-career All-Conference second team accolade. In the classroom, the Billerica, Massachusetts native has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, while also being earning to the Division II ADA Academic Achievement award.

Earning a 3.73 cumulative GPA in the classroom while studying biology, Callahan five top-20 marks out of seven meets this season, including career bests at the New England Cross Country Championships and the NE10 Championships. This was also her first time competing in the NCAA East Regional Championship and NCAA Championship. Along with her 16th-place finish at the NE10 Championships, Callahan earned NE10 All-Conference third team honors, and followed that up with a 19th-place mark at the East Regional Championship. Previously, the Plymouth, Massachusetts native was named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll and earned the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Curtin, who is a philosophy major and economics minor, has culminated a 3.71 GPA, while competing all three seasons. This is the sophomore's second USTFCCCA All-Academic Award and this season she has posted five top-25 finishes this season out of seven meets, including a career best finish at the NE10 Championship, crossing the finish line as the runner up behind Lastra. Curtin competed in her second NCAA Division II Championship and tallied her second-career NCAA Division II All-East Region honor this year. She has also been tabbed to the NE10 All-Conference team twice. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native has seen her name on the Dean's list, the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll three times.

Erhard, who earned a 3.44 GPA, during her freshman semester while majoring in Accounting, saw five top-30 finishes in the seven meets she competed in this season. As a freshman, she crossed the finish line 15th at the NE10 Championships earning All-Conference third team honors. She was also tabbed NE10 Rookie of the Year after her successful season. The Wenham, Massachusetts native earned her first NCAA Division II All-East Region team recognition finishing 18th at the East Regional Championship. She also was tabbed on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll this semester.

The Skyhawks wrapped up the season with the program's 17th Northeast-10 Conference Championship and 10th-straight with nine All-Conference honorees and the individual champion, its 15th NCAA Division II East Region Championship and eighth title in 10 years with all seven competitors on the All-East Region team, and 14th at the NCAA Division II Championships which is tied for second overall with 2004 and 2015.
