Senior and freshman duo repeat as NE-10 Athlete of the Week and Rookie of the Week

Northeast-10 Cross Country Weekly Awards 

EASTON, Mass. (September 19, 2016) – The No. 13 Stonehill College women's cross country senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Athlete of the Week, while freshman Danika Wayss (Warwich, R.I./Pilgrim) was tabbed Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week for their second time this season, the league office announced Monday.

Borofski helped Stonehill win the college division at the 37th annual National Catholic Championship in South Bend, Indiana, while the Skyhawks also placed third overall Division I and II teams. The senior crossed the finish line with a time of 17:32.5 capturing her second title of the season. Over the 301 runners in the meet, Borofski placed fourth in the five-kilometer course.

Wayss tallied her second top-20 result as a Skyhawk, crossing the finish with a time of 18:59.2 placing 19th in the college division. The freshman recorded a 59th-place mark overall competitors.

Stonehill recorded its second title of the 2016 season tallying a total of 51 points at the National Catholic Championship.

The Skyhawks are off for a few weeks as they prepare for the Lehigh Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University, which takes place on October 1.
