Skyhawk Women Finish Second At Regional Championships
Boston, Mass. - The Skyhawks had three top ten performances but were unable to beat out NE-10 champion UMass-Lowell as they finished second in the Division II Northeast Regional Championship on Sunday afternoon at Franklin Park.
Stonehill was led by freshman Jill Alves (Whitman, Mass.) and senior Kristina Coriaty (Brockton, Mass.) who finished fifth and sixth respectively, while Jenny Gardinski (Everett, Mass.) added a ninth place finish.
Avles, Coriaty and Gardinski were also named to the All-East Region team for their performances on Sunday.
Amanda Tripodi (Darien, Conn.) and Kristen Mahoney (Weymouth, Mass.) rounded out the team's performance with a 14th and 22nd finish respectively.
With the second place finish the Skyhawks earn a trip to the Division II National Championships at Slippery Rock University on November 22.
