Stonehill's all-time Google Cloud® CoSIDA Academic All-District
EASTON, Mass. (November 16, 2018) – Stonehill College junior Rachel Dunlavy has been named to the Google Cloud® Academic All-District First Team for volleyball, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members in Division II from the East Region, announced on Thursday.
The junior from Brighton, Michigan is just the second volleyball student-athlete in Stonehill history to earn Google Cloud® Academic All-District First Team honors, as Pam Kelly '98 was the first honoree. Out of the three conferences in the East Region, the Northeast-10 Conference had four selections out of the seven selected.

Dunlavy, who has earned a 3.97 cumulative grade point average while majoring in economics and minoring in business has completed three of the four semesters with a 4.0. She has been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Stonehill's Dean List, and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll her entire career thus far. She has also been invited to the Stonehill Athletics' Academic Excellence Breakfast for the highest GPA on the team after the Fall 2017 semester. Dunlavy also earned the Division II Athletic Director's Association Academic Achievement Award her sophomore year. She was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon and was given the St. Thomas Aquinas medal, Patron Saint of Students, for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team.
On the court, Dunlavy started and appeared in all 22 matches this season, while also appearing in all 27 matches her sophomore year and 22 of the 25 contests her freshman year. In all three years, she was in the top-three of the team for digs per set, with this year leading the way with her 4.25 digs per set. This is the highest average in a season for a Skyhawk libero since Erin Kelly '13 averaged 4.50 in 2012. Dunlavy also had career highs in eight other categories, including assists (82), assists per set (1.06), aces (30), aces per set (0.39), digs (327), kills (6), and hitting percentage (.545). The junior was also ranked fifth in the NE10 in digs per set, 14th in aces per set, and 25th in total aces.
Outside the classroom, Dunlavy has been a teacher's assistant at Harvard University for the economics department specifically assisting in micro and macroeconomics, serving in the same capacity at Stonehill since the fall of 2017. This past summer, she was an intern at Meridian Health Plan in the enterprise information management department in Detroit, Michigan.
The Skyhawks just missed out on a chance in the NE10 Tournament, as they finished the season with a .500 record, a mark of 11-11 overall and 7-7 in the Conference.
