Northeast-10 Conference Announces Volleyball All-Conference Teams

EASTON, Mass. (November 7, 2018) – The Stonehill College volleyball team saw three Northeast-10 Conference honors, as announced by the league on Wednesday, including senior Allyson Hughes, and freshmen Lauren Wilke and Abby Remick.

For the Skyhawks, Hughes was tabbed on the third team for her first-career All-Conference recognition, while Wilke and Remick were both named to the All-Rookie Team.

Hughes saw career highs in four categories this season as she played in all 22 matches, including kills per set (3.59), aces per set (0.15), digs per set (0.70), and blocks per set (0.35). The senior right side hitter saw 16 matches with double-digit kills, including her career high of 24 kills in a 3-1 victory over Franklin Pierce University. She saw a season best .440 hitting percentage in a 3-0 shutout against Assumption College with her 14 kills.

In the Conference, the senior finished the season ranked second in kills per set (3.59), 16th in total kills (266), and 20th in total attacks (725).

Wilke led the Skyhawks in assists per set and totaled 10 double-doubles

The Modesto, California native has been previously named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll and will graduate in May with a dual degree in Graphic Design and Communications.

A 2015 graduate of Big Valley Christian School in Modesto, California, Hughes was a four year letter winner in volleyball who earned the Scholar-Athlete award all four years. As a junior she was named to All-Conference first team, while setting the school record for kills. Her senior year, she was named the team and Conference MVP, while receiving All-State honors.

Wilke has been a big part of the Skyhawk's success as she has averaged 9.71 assists per set and 2.88 digs per set, but has also been a force at the net averaging 0.36 blocks per set and a .252 hitting percentage. The freshman earns her first NE10 All-Conference honor, as she was one of eight freshman to be named to the All-Rookie Team. Wilke tallied 10 double-doubles this season and was named NE10 Rookie of the Week twice and Setter of the Week once.

The 2018 graduate of Bayport-Blue Point High School finished the season ranked in three categories in the NE10, including fifth in assists per set (9.71), 17th in aces per set (0.38), and 21st in digs per set (2.88).

Remick was all over the floor and was a force for the Skyhawks offensively and defensively

Remick also earned her first All-Conference honor, as she was also tabbed on the All-Rookie Team with Wilke. Remick registered three double-doubles this season, as she averaged 2.43 kills per set, 0.19 aces per set, 1.88 digs per set, and 0.21 blocks per set. The freshman outside hitter played in all 22 matches this season and was named NE10 Rookie of the Week once.

In the NE10, the Chepachet, Rhode Island native, was ranked 28th in kills per set and 38th in total kills, as she was third on the team in kills per set and fourth in digs per set.

The 2018 graduate of Ponaganset High School was a four year letter winner in volleyball and outdoor track & field. She is a three-time All-Division first team honoree, and a two-time All-State first team selection.

Volleyball wrapped up the 2018 season with a .500 percentage with an 11-11 overall mark and a 7-7 NE10 record, just shyly missing out on the NE10 Conference Tournament.
