NE10 Volleyball Report: Week 6

EASTON, Mass. (October 3, 2018) – Stonehill College volleyball's freshman Abby Remick (Chepachet, Rhode Island/Ponaganset) was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for her first-collegiate honor, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Remick earns her first honor as she assisted the Skyhawks to a 2-0 week, to continue Stonehill's 5-0 record at home. Stonehill posted 3-0 victories over both Bentley University and Saint Michael's College, with the Skyhawks' first win over the Falcons in four years. With these wins, Stonehill has also won four-straight matches, including a 3-1 win over Franklin Pierce University and a 3-0 shutout against Merrimack College.

Remick posted impressive numbers as she averaged 3.33 kills per set with a .389 hitting percentage. She chipped in 3.50 digs per set over the two matches and contributed 0.50 blocks per set. During the match against the Purple Knights, the Chepachet, Rhode Island native tallied her third double-double recording 11 kills and 13 digs.

Among the team, she is second in kills per set (2.62) and third in digs per set (2.55), while placing 19th in the Conference in kills per set and 37th in digs per set.

Stonehill travels to Goffstown, New Hampshire this weekend to battle Saint Anselm College on Saturday, October 6 for a noon start time.
