Stevens Tabbed As NE-10 Setter Of The Week

Junior earns weekly award for third time in career

EASTON, Mass. (November 10, 2015) – Stonehill College junior setter Taylor Stevens (Foster, Rhode Island/Ponaganset) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week for the third time in her career, the league office announced yesterday.

In Stonehill's lone match last week, Stevens registered 38 assists, five digs, two service aces and two block assists in a 3-0 win over Southern Connecticut State University.

Stevens has averaged 9.08 assists per set in 89 frames this year, which is good for seventh in the NE-10 in that category. Stevens also is the current leader in service aces with 47, and service aces per set with 0.53 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Stevens earns her third career NE-10 Setter of the Week award, as she collected both Setter and Rookie of the Week accolades following her first week of collegiate action on September 10th, 2013. The Foster, Rhode Island native also won the award earlier this year, when she dished out a career-high 52 assists in a 3-0 win over Saint Michael's College.

A 2013 graduate of Ponaganset High School in Glocester, Rhode Island, Stevens was named Rhode Island Division I Player of the Year, Cox Player of the Year, and Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior.

Stonehill (11-14, 5-8 NE-10) will be back in action this Saturday, when the Skyhawks wrap up their regular season, traveling to West Haven, Connecticut to take on the University of New Haven at 6 p.m.
