EASTON, Mass. (November 11, 2014) – Stonehill College senior setter Emily Iverson (Elmhurst, Illinois/York) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year for volleyball, headlining four All-Conference selections for Stonehill, the league office announced this morning.
Iverson also earns Setter of the Year honors from the NE-10 in addition to landing on the All-Conference first team, where she is joined by junior outside hitter Delia Phillips (St. James, New York/Smithtown East). Senior middle blocker Meaghan Lee (Hanover, Massachusetts/Notre Dame Academy) collected All-NE-10 second team accolades, while freshman libero Claire Manuszak (Indianapolis, Indiana/Bishop Chatard) was voted to the league's All-Rookie team.
Iverson, who earned All-Conference honors from the NE-10 in each of the last three years, caps her career at Stonehill by becoming the first student-athlete in program history to be named NE-10 Player of the Year.
Iverson ended the regular season ranked second in the conference in both total assists (1011) and assists per set (10.21) while running an offense that posted a .184 attack percentage, good for fifth in the NE-10. The Elmhurst, Illinois native also averages 2.02 digs and 0.69 kills per frame to go with 35 service aces (T-7th in NE-10) and 23 total blocks (two solo).
Iverson became Stonehill's all-time assists leader in a 3-1 win over the University of Bridgeport on October 3rd, before surpassing the 4000-assist milestone a month later in a 3-2 triumph at Pace University on November 1st. She has recorded eight double-doubles (10+ assists/10+ digs) this fall, and eclipsed the 50-assist mark in five matches. Iverson's career totals through the end of the regular season include 4150 assists (10.32/set), 879 digs (2.19/set), 250 kills (0.62/set), 92 service aces (0.23/set), and 91 total blocks (0.23/set) in 107 matches and 402 sets.
The senior captain earned a pair of NE-10 Setter of the Week honors this season, first on September 9th and then again on September 30th. She registered her season-high for digs (13) in a 3-1 win over Wilmington University on September 13th, and her season-high for assists (58) in last Friday's 3-2 victory against Le Moyne College.
Iverson made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2011, becoming the first setter in program history to record over 1000 assists in a single season en route to joining teammate Sydney Maxey as the first two Skyhawks to be named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-East Region team. She was also named to the All-NE-10 first team and All-Rookie team as a freshman before earning second team honors as a sophomore and third team accolades last fall.

Iverson has also excelled in the classroom, earning NE-10 Honor Roll status on five occasions and Athletic Director's Honor Roll recognition four times. In addition, she collected a Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award as a sophomore in 2012.
A 2011 graduate of York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois, Iverson was a two-year varsity player, serving as team captain for her mother, head coach Patty Iverson. She was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection, earning All-Conference and All-Area honors as well.
Phillips joins Iverson on the All-NE-10 first team, marking the second consecutive season that the junior outside hitter has been voted to the first team by the league's head coaches. Phillips finished the regular season with the fourth highest kill total (320) and kills per set average (3.30) in the conference. She also recorded 2.63 digs per frame to go with 24 total blocks (four solo) and 21 service aces.
The St. James, New York native produced 12 double-double (10+ kills, 10+ digs) performances in 26 regular season matches, including three in her last four games. Phillips posted a career-high 25 kills in Stonehill's win over Le Moyne, a week after registering 17 kills and a season-high 20 digs at Pace.
She turned in an impressive stretch of five consecutive double-doubles from 9/27-10/7, helping the Skyhawks to five wins as a part of their season-high seven-match winning streak. She hit .340 with 24 kills and 15 digs against Saint Michael's College College on September 27th, before posting a .386 attack clip with 22 kills and 15 more digs in Stonehill's next match against Southern New Hampshire. Phillips capped the five-match tear on October 7th with 15 digs, 11 kills, and four block assists in a 3-2 win at Saint Anselm College.

Phillips enjoyed a breakout season as a sophomore in 2013, earning All-NE-10 first team and AVCA All-East Region accolades after averaging 3.10 kills (3rd in NE-10) and 2.92 digs per frame. Through the end of the regular season, her career totals include 845 kills (2.94/set), 690 digs (2.40/set), 78 total blocks (0.27/set), 65 service aces (0.23/set), and 45 assists (0.16/set).
In the classroom, Phillips has been named to both the NE-10 and Athletic Director's Honor Rolls all four semesters at Stonehill.
A 2012 graduate of Smithtown East High School in St. James New York, Phillips was a four-year letterwinner and varsity starter for head coach Lauren Geldmacher. As a senior, she earned All-State second team honors and helped lead Smithtown East to a Long Island Championship and a third place finish in the state volleyball tournament.
Lee, a senior middle blocker from Hanover, Massachusetts, collects the first All-Conference honor of her career with her selection to the NE-10's second team. Lee's total of 72 blocks during the regular season were good for seventh in the league, while her 15 solo blocks were tied for ninth. She also averaged 2.19 kills (3rd on team) with a .242 attack percentage and 0.31 digs per frame over 97 sets.
Lee recorded 10+ kills on seven occasions, and 5+ blocks five times. She hit .375 with 11 kills, three digs, and three blocks against Wilmington, and four matches later turned in a .478 attack clip with 13 kills and four block assists in a 3-1 win at rival Bentley University on September 23rd. Lee registered her finest performance of the season in Stonehill's win at Saint Michael's on September 27th. The senior posted season-highs in both attack percentage (.680) and kills (17) to go with four block assists, two assists, and a dig. Her season high of eight blocks (one solo, seven assist) came in Stonehill's win at Saint Anselm.
Since arriving at Stonehill in 2011, Lee has recorded career totals of 824 kills (2.07/set) with a .224 attack percentage, 289 total blocks (0.73/set) and 96 digs (0.24/set) in 111 matches and 398 sets. Her 242 block assists rank third in program history behind classmate Mary-Kate Catton (San Diego, California/Academy of Our Lady of Peace) and former teammate Kirsten Arvidson, '14. In the classroom, she has been named to one NE-10 Honor Roll and one Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

A 2011 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts, Lee was a three-year varsity player, serving as captain as a senior in 2010. She was a member of teams that won three consecutive Catholic Conference championships (2008-10), earning All-State honors from the MGUCA in 2010.
Rounding out Stonehill's All-NE-10 performers this season is Manuszak, who earned a selection to the All-Rookie team after leading the Skyhawks with 3.34 digs per set (15th in NE-10) as a freshman. She also chipped in with 29 assists and 21 service aces while playing in a team-high 101 sets.
Manuszak collected a pair of Rookie of the Week honors from the NE-10 this fall, with both coming in the first month of the season. The Indianapolis, Indiana native registered 10+ digs in 17 of Stonehill's 26 matches during the regular season, including 15+ digs on 11 occasions and 20+ digs twice.
Manuszak recorded 24 digs in her collegiate debut, a 3-1 win over Chestnut Hill College on September 5th, before tallying her season-high of 30 a week later in a 3-2 win against Holy Family University. She has finished with 10+ digs in six of Stonehill's last seven matches, totaling at least 15 in three of those contests.
A 2014 graduate of Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, Manuszak was a member of Trojans teams that won the state volleyball championship in 2012 and posted a runner-up finish in 2011. Manuszak also earned Academic All-State honors as a senior at Bishop Chatard.
Stonehill (20-6, 11-3 NE-10), ranked No. 2 in the latest NCAA East Region rankings, and seeded second in the NE-10 Championship, opens the tournament tonight with a quarterfinal matchup at Merkert Gymnasium against seventh-seeded Southern New Hampshire University at 7 p.m.
