This week for Stonehill Volleyball was a week of character building. We had some ups and downs but we are a team that overcomes adversity and will overcome some of the obstacles we faced this week. We started out our week traveling to Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. The last time we traveled to St. A's the result wasn't as we had hoped, so this year coming back to their home gym we sought out some serious revenge, and that is exactly what we got! This particular game was one for the books, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.
In the first two sets, we fell just short of victory, which forced us to step our game up and fight back. The tables turned in the third and fourth, sending us to a fifth and final set. We came together as a team and when we work together, we are successful. Our blocking improved immensely and we did everything in our power in order for Stonehill Volleyball to come out successful. Forcing Saint Anselm to a fifth set, we knew we couldn't give up just yet. We needed fifteen more points and we gave it our all for every one of those points, resulting in a 15-5 score in the fifth set with Stonehill College coming out on top. After our victory in New Hampshire our coach surprised us by stopping at Dairy Queen before we hit the highway. All of us indulged in a little sweet treat and boy did it taste good, especially after our victory and extending our winning streak.
The following Saturday we had a game scheduled against Franklin Pierce University, but before traveling to Rindge, New Hampshire we got the privilege to go to our coach, Lauren Amundson's home to carve pumpkins as a team. Each pair of sisters on our team had their own pumpkin to carve together and I must say, this team activity was so much fun and all of my teammates would agree.

After leaving our coach's home we started our route to Franklin Pierce University to face the Ravens. Unfortunately, things didn't go the way we'd hoped on Saturday night. We fought and gave it all we had but the Franklin Pierce Ravens ended up victorious. A loss is hard to deal with, especially after being on a winning streak, but this loss wont stop Stonehill Volleyball. We've been recovering for the past few days in order to come out stronger and more focused for the second half of our season.
