Volleyblog: Preseason Report (August 19, 2014)

by Rachel Peterson

This season we're gladly welcoming five new additions to our team- four freshmen, one sophomore, as well as new assistant coach Morgan Thatcher from UNH. We're officially a family of 17 now and it couldn't be a better fit. It's a seamless transition from camp to preseason and we're all getting along famously. We had one little hiccup where our gym floors are being redone, but Bridgewater State University kindly accommodated us by welcoming us to use their facilities. The van rides to practice make for some great conversations as we get to know more and more about each other as the days pass. We started out the morning with some fitness testing, but we attacked it and (fingers crossed) completed our goals. Today we also celebrated together after completing one of our hardest drills, "Earn the Right to Practice". It kicked our butts, but we finished in the first session! Needless to say, our shoulders are feeling it. Here's some proof to show how excited we really were...

We can't wait to get back in the gym tomorrow to further prepare for an epic season. Keep checking in on us here as we conquer preseason as well as on Instagram (@stonehillvb) and Facebook (Stonehill College Women's Volleyball).
