Kelly And Iverson Collect NE-10 Weekly Awards

Duo guides Stonehill to a 4-0 week overall

EASTON, Mass. (September 18, 2012) – Stonehill College senior libero Erin Kelly (Tinley Park, Ill./Marist) and sophomore setter Emily Iverson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) have both collected weekly volleyball honors from the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10). Kelly was named the Molten Libero of the Week while Iverson earned Molten Co-Setter of the Week accolades earlier today.

Kelly, who notched her 1,000th career dig against Queens (N.Y.) in a 3-1 victory on Saturday, averaged 4.50 digs per set (63 total) in a 4-0 week overall for Stonehill. Kelly also added ten assists, four service aces and one kill on the week.

At the Bentley University Invitational this past weekend, Kelly entered the tournament needing 38 digs to reach the 1,000 career dig milestone. She compiled 12 digs versus Georgian Court University on Friday, 17 more against Wilmington (Del.) University and another 18 digs versus Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday to give her 1,009 career digs (3.10 per set) and All-Tournament Team honors.

Kelly is the second Stonehill player in as many years to record 1,000 digs as Laura Huselton (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) reached the milestone versus Saint Michael's on September 24, 2011.

Kelly earns her second weekly award of the season and her career as she was named the Molten Libero of the Week on September 5, 2012.

Iverson picks up her first NE-10 weekly award of the season and 12th overall as she averaged 10.5 assists per set (158 total) for Stonehill in its undefeated week of play. The sophomore also added 26 digs (1.73/set), eight kills, two block solos, two block assists and one service ace on the week. Iverson shares the award this week with Le Moyne College sophomore setter Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush).

Last season, Iverson garnered seven Rookie of the Week awards (9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25) and four Setter of the Week honors (9/7, 9/20, 10/18, 10/25).

Iverson currently ranks second overall in assists per set (10.19) in the NE-10 Conference and 48th overall in digs per set (2.10).

Stonehill (6-3, 1-0 NE-10) travels to Saint Anselm College today for an NE-10 clash at 7:30 p.m.
