Skyhawks sophomore middle blocker led team in kills at GVSU Classic

EASTON, Mass. (September 10, 2012) – Stonehill College women's volleyball sophomore middle blocker Meaghan Lee (Hanover, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) has been named to the Riverfront Hotel Grand Rapids Classic All-Tournament team, it was announced earlier today.
Lee led Stonehill's offense in four matches (1-3 overall) at the Riverfront Hotel Grand Rapids Classic in Allendale, Michigan – hosted by Grand Valley State University – with 31 kills (2.58 per set/.203 hitting percentage), seven blocks (six block assists), seven digs and one service ace.
In the Skyhawks final match of the tournament against Barry University (3-0 loss), Lee posted a team-high 11 kills, three digs, one block solo and three block assists. On the season, Lee currently leads Stonehill in kills per set (2.69/43 total) and is tied for the team-lead in blocks per set (0.75).
As a freshman in 73 sets played (25 matches) last season, Lee compiled 162 kills (2.26 p/s), 42 blocks (0.58 p/s) and a .266 hitting percentage which ranked second best on the squad.
Stonehill returns to action on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 p.m. in Merkert Gymnasium against Assumption College as the Skyhawks host "Orange Night" to promote Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness in memory of Henry Thevenin, '14. The event will look to support the Stonehill College football team in its efforts to honor Henry Thevenin "H-LUV" while raising awareness of leukemia and lymphoma.
