Freshman dished out 91 assists for Stonehill in three matches

EASTON, Mass. (September 7, 2011) – Stonehill College freshman Emily Iverson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was named the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) Setter of the Week by the conference earlier today.

In the Kutztown University Classic last weekend, Iverson facilitated a Skyhawks offense that went 2-1 overall with 91 assists total to go along with 23 digs, three kills, two block assists and two service aces.

Iverson averaged 8.27 assists-per-set over the weekend and 30 assists per match. On Saturday, the freshman also set a career-high in assists against Kutztown University with 37 total in a five set loss.

Among all setters in the NE-10, Iverson ranks third in total assists through four matches with 117 on the season and second in assists-per-set with an average of 8.36. In both categories, Iverson ranks first among all freshman in the NE-10.

Stonehill (3-1, 0-0 NE-10) travels to the West Chester University RAM Fest on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10 to play in four matches over the weekend. On Friday, the Skyhawks will face Lincoln (Pa.) University at 5 p.m. and Chestnut Hill at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Stonehill plays Philadelphia University at noon and LIU-C.W. Post at 2 p.m.
