Skyhawks push winning streak to 10-straight , Arvidson and Huselton named to All-Tournament Team                

WALTHAM, Mass. (September 17, 2011) – The Stonehill College women's volleyball team swept a pair of non-conference matches on day two of the Bentley University Invitational to push its winning streak to 10-straight matches. The Skyhaws defeated Queens (N.Y.), 3-1, by scores of 25-10, 18-25, 25-18, 25-21 and Georgian Court University, 3-0, by scores of 25-10, 25-20 and 25-18.

Senior captain Laura Huselton (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) led Stonehill on the attack with 11 kills, three assists and 18 digs while freshman setter Emily Iverson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) dished out 33 assists to go along with five kills, four service aces, eight digs and one block solo.

Kirsten Arvidson (Andover, Mass./Andover) chipped in with 10 kills and five block assists. Junior libero Erin Kelly (Tinley Park, Ill./Marist) added four assists, two service aces and 12 digs.

Stonehill 3, Georgian Court 0

Arvidson and Sydney Maxey (Hutto, Texas/Hutto) combined for 21 of Stonehill's 31 kills to lead the Skyhawks to their 10-straight victory. Arvidson turned in a match-high 12 kills for a .348 hitting percengate while Maxey had nine kills for a .636 hitting percentage. Maxey also added two assists, three service aces, 12 digs, one block solo and one block assist.

Iverson contributed with 21 assists, two kills, four service aces, eight digs, one block solo and one block assist.

As a team, Stonehill had 14 service aces in the match, 42 digs, four block solos and five block assists.

Stonehill (11-1, 1-0 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday, September 20 against the University of Bridgeport, on the road, at 7 p.m.
