Skyhawks Win Third Straight in Three Sets

Manchester, N.H. - The Skyhawks are getting hot as the season winds down, as they won their third consecutive match in straight sets, beating St. Anselm in just over an hour on Saturday. 

The first set saw the Skyhawks and Hawks exchange five lead changes before Stonehill took the set by a 25-22 margin.

The Skyhawks dominated play scoring 25 and holding St. Anselm to just eight points in the second set, for their largest margin of victory in a set this season. 

Stonehill took control in the final set, coming away with a 25-18 win. 

Michelle Thornhill (Canyon Lake, Calif.) led the Skyhawks ten kills while Erin Johnson (Centerville, Mass.) tallied nine.   

On the defensive end, Therese Mance (Milwaukee, Wis.) had 12 digs while Andera Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) added 11 digs to go along with her 32 assists. 

With the win the Skyhawks improve to 15-9 overall and 3-5 in NE-10 play. 

Stonehill returns to action when they host Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
