Steve Fitzgerald enters his fourth year as an assistant coach of the Stonehill men's and women's track and field programs. He coaches sprint and relay events including the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes, and the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

In only three seasons on the track & field staff, Fitzgerald has coached one All-American - Nathan Morse, Distance Medley Relay - guided 16 student-athletes to school records, nine to All-New England performances and four student-athletes to Northeast-10 Conference championships.

A USATF Level 1 certified coach, Fitzgerald previously coached for five years at Weymouth High School. As the Head Boys' Track & Field Coach in 2009-10, he led the outdoor team to a 7-0 record and Weymouth's first Bay State League title in 13 years, and was elected the Bay State League Coach of the Year. On their way to the conference title, the Wildcats snapped Newton North's ten-year unbeaten streak spanning more than 150 meets.

In four years as an assistant coach at Weymouth, Fitzgerald designed all workouts for sprinters and jumpers, and was responsible for overseeing all sprinters, long jumpers, triple jumpers, and relays. Overall, his athletes broke more than 20 school records and two Bay State League records.

Fitzgerald is in his fifth year overall in the athletics department at Stonehill, where he currently serves as Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations.
