2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District™ Cross Country/Track & Field Teams
Stonehill All-Time All-District™ honorees
EASTON, Mass. (May 29, 2019) – Stonehill College women's track & field senior Krista Fernandes and cross country and track & field junior Anna Lastra have both been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District™ I Women's Cross Country and Track & Field First Team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members in Division II from the East Region, on Tuesday.
Lastra and Fernandes are now added to a list of 11 Skyhawk women's cross country and track & field student-athletes that have made the first team for 13 total. Trisha Pierson '16 ended her career as a three-time first teamer, while also being named as a CoSIDA Academic All-America second and third team honoree in 2016 and 2015, respectively. Lastra and Fernandes were two of nine Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes that were named to this years' District 1 list of 13 honorees. The pair are now eligible for Academic All-America® selection, as voted by members of CoSIDA, to be announced in June.

Fernandes, who is now one of six women Skyhawks to earn this honor twice, graduated two weeks ago with a 3.81 grade point average with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Last year she was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District I first team and has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association All-Academic team (USTFCCCA) twice in her career. Within the Conference, Fernandes has earned four Academic All-Conference honors, while being named on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll with Academic Distinction. She is a member of both the Psi Chi and Lambda Epsilon Sigma Honor Societies, received the Stonehill College Presidential Scholarship, and has been named to both the Dean's List and Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
On the track, Fernandes has climbed the ladder of success throughout her four years and was a three-time qualifier for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships with the 4000-meter distance medley relay team. She has combined for 11 USTFCCCA All-East Region honors, 10 All-Conference accolades, and is a three-time NE10 Champion, including winning the 2019 400-meter run during the indoor season. At New England's, Fernandes is a four-time All-New England honoree, while also assisting the DMR to the 2017 title. This season she was named a captain and currently holds the record for the indoor 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:44.77 from 2017.
Lastra, with her 3.82 grade point average in the classroom as she studies health science, collects her first Academic All-District honor running during all three seasons for the Skyhawks. Lastra is a four-time NE10 Academic All-Conference honoree, earning it most recently during the indoor season. She has been named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team five times and earned the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award her sophomore year, while also being named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll with Academic Distinction and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple times.

Lastra led the way for the program's 17th NE10 Cross Country Championship as she was Stonehill's fourth-straight individual champion and was named NE10 Athlete of the Year. With the title, Lastra tallied her first cross country NE10 All-Conference first team recognition to combine for 12 over her three years with the Purple & White. At the NCAA Division II Cross Country East Regional Championships, the junior was the runner up at the meet for her second cross country All-East Region honor, and she followed that up with her best mark at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships as she finished 64th in her third-straight appearance. The Bridgton, Maine native has also totaled four All-New England honors and 13 NCAA Division II All-East Region team recognitions over the three seasons. During the indoor seasons, she has assisted the 4000-meter distance medley relay team to qualify for NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships three times.
The cross country program won its 17th NE10 title and 10th-straight championship, as the Skyhawks also saw its fourth-straight individual title. The Skyhawks punched their 18th-straight ticket to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship by earning their 15th NCAA Division II East Regional Championship. The squad finished a 14th for their second best National Championship result in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as they competed at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship in December. The women then earned their sixth-straight NE10 Indoor Championship in dominating fashion and they capped off the 2018-19 season with its fifth NE10 Outdoor Championship in program history. The Skyhawk women have now won 12-straight NE10 Championships, including cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field and have combined for 18 of the last 19 championships since 2013.
