Ward Named NE10 Field Athlete of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (April 25, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's track and field junior Madison Ward was named Northeast-10 Conference Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Conference on Wednesday.

Ward collected her first NE10 Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after provisionally qualifying for the high jump for the first time during an outdoor season. This is the second time this year she was recognized by the NE10, the first was during the indoor season when she provisionally qualified as well.

The junior assisted the team to a third-place finish at the Holy Cross Invitational on Saturday after she took home the individual title in the high jump with her mark of 5 feet, 6 inches. She surpassed all Division I competitors at the meet and is currently third on the NE10 performance list, 19th on the New England list, and 27th on the NCAA Division II performance list.

The Holliston, Massachusetts native also placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 35 feet, 2.5 inches. She is currently 13th on the NE10 performance list with this distance.

Stonehill will host its 12th Annual Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday, April 27 at W.B. Mason Stadium with a start time for field events at 10:30 a.m. and track events at 11:30 a.m. Prior to the meet at 10:00 a.m., Stonehill will honor its seniors.
