Northeast 10 Indoor Track and Field Report: Week 7
EASTON, Mass. (February 12, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's track and field senior Jillian Caiazzi was named Northeast-10 Conference Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Conference on Tuesday.
Caiazzi collects her first individual honor this season after previously earning back-to-back Relay of the Week honors for the 4x800-meter team and the 4000-meter distance medley relay.
The senior clocked in a time of 2:14.51 in the 800-meter run at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday, hosted by Boston University. Caiazzi's time was a season best time in the event, as she finished 42nd out of 197 competitors and crossing the finish line as the first Division II competitor. The Marlborough, Massachusetts native currently sits at the top of the NE10 performance list heading into the NE10 Conference Indoor Championships this weekend. Her time was .39 shy of matching the NCAA Division II provisional time.
Stonehill prepares for the NE10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships that will be held on Saturday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17 at Smith College at the Smith College Indoor Track in Northampton, Massachusetts, hosted by American International College.
