Northeast 10 Outdoor Track and Field Report: Week 2

The quartet finished second at the 53rd Colonial Relays

EASTON, Mass. (April 13, 2018) – Stonehill College's women's track and field 4x200-meter relay team received Northeast-10 Conference honors this week, announced by the conference on Thursday.

The quartet of Alison Tobin (Hudson, Massachusetts/Hudson), Emily Polvere Somers, New York/Somers), Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle and Cassidy), and Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vermont/Union 32) finished second out of 13 teams at the 53rd Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia, hosted by the College of William and Mary last weekend.

The relay team posted a time of 1:42.44 and was the first Division II institution to cross the finish line, as the Skyhawks was one second behind Division I institution Norfolk State University who clocked in a time of 1:41.69.

Tobin kicked off the race with an unofficial time of 25.6, who handed off the baton to Polvere who clocked in at an unofficial time of 25.9. Fernandes was the third leg of the relay and handed the baton after sprinting an unofficial time of 25.5 and giving the baton to Dexter to take the anchor leg in an unofficial time of 25.3.

The Skyhawks will compete at the Silfen Invitational this Friday and Saturday at the David and Lyn Silfen Track & Field in New London, Connecticut, hosted by Connecticut College.
