EASTON, Mass. (February 28, 2018) – Stonehill College women's track and field 4000-meter distance medley relay team have been officially accepted to compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University and Crawford Country Convention and Visitors Bureau, in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Robert W. Plaster Center from March 9-10.

The 4000-meter distance medley relay, including Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy), Jillian Caiazzi (Marlborough, Massachusetts/Marlborough), Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle and Cassidy), and Elizabeth Hannon (Franklin, Massachusetts/Bishop Feehan) clocked in a season best 11:39.90 at the Boston University Last Chance Meet last weekend. The quartet dropped 11 seconds off their previous time from this season and were four seconds off the school record set in 2016.

At Boston University, the squad took home second among 11 teams and their time improved their NCAA Division II provisional ranking to eighth. Lastra kicked off the relay with an unofficial time of 3:36.5 in the 1200-meter leg, followed by Fernandes' unofficial 58.0 400-meter leg. Caiazzi took the baton and clocked in an unofficial personal best time of 2:11.8 800-meter split, while Hannon crossed the finish with an unofficial personal best time of 4:53.4 mile split.
