Accusplit Honors Top Relay Teams From 2017

EASTON, Mass. (December 13, 2017) – Stonehill College women's track and field 4x1500-meter relay team, consisting of Nicole Borofski '17, Aisha McAdams '17, Alexandra Buonfiglio '17, and Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) was recognized on Tuesday by Accusplit as one of the best collegiate relay teams from the 2017 season.

Accusplit, the leader in the professional stopwatch and timing industry since 1972, will recognize the nation's best collegiate relay teams and their coaches at the 2017 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Convention at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. The ceremonies will take place during each divisional track & field general sessions on Tuesday afternoon. Accusplit Relay Awards are given to those relay teams that ran the fastest times in their respective outdoor relay events.

Stonehill was the only Northeast-10 school recognized in Division II, while Minnesota State University and Shorter University led the way with two teams honored in the women's and men's division, respectively.

For Stonehill, Borofski, McAdams, Buonfiglio, and Lastra helped open up the outdoor season at the 52nd Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia with a sixth-place finish among 26 other relay teams. The quartet crossed the finish line as the first Division II team with a time of 19:06.80. Borofski, a nine-time All-American, got the squad out to a good start with a 4:34.4 opening leg, followed by McAdams who ran a 4:49.7 1500-meter run. Lastra and Buonfiglio completed the relay for the Skyhawks clocking in at 4:46.2 and 4:55.75, respectively.

Stonehill is now off until after the New Year and will resume their indoor schedule with the Beantown Challenge, hosted by Harvard University at the Gordon Indoor Track in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
