Women’s Track and Field Pair Stands Out at Larry Ellis Invitational

Borofski posts second-straight NCAA automatic bid

McAdams finishes second in her heat and 38th in the 1500m run

PRINCETON, N.J. (April 21, 2017) – Two senior members of the Stonehill College women's track and field team were in action this evening at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University at Weaver Stadium.  

Senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) earned her second-straight automatic bid to the NCAA Championships next month in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Borofski finished fourth in a field of 21 competitors behind three Division I Ivy League participants, including Yale University, Princeton University and Cornell University. She clocked in at 10:16.06, just shy of her personal best time and school record of 10:15.27, which she set last season at the NCAA Championships.

Teammate and All-American Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) finished second in her heat in the 1500-meter run and placed 38th overall. McAdams clocked in at 4:36.07, two seconds shy of the NCAA provisional mark.

The rest of the Stonehill women's track and field team will be in action Saturday at the Holy Cross Invitational, hosted by the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Masachusetts.
