Women’s Track Opens Up Outdoor Season at 52nd Colonial Relays

Stonehill finished as the first Division II squads in the 4x1500m and 4x200m

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 1, 2017) – The Stonehill College women's track relay teams competed in the 52nd Colonial Relays, hosted by the College of William and Mary, on Saturday, April 1 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Bucknell University took the women's title with a total of 65 points, while Norfolk State placed second with 64 points and Duquesne University rounded out the top three with 58 points.

Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North), Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown), Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy), and Alexandra Buonfiglio (Lynnfield, Massachusetts/Lynnfield) took an impressive sixth place in the 4x1500-meter race, finishing as the first Division II squad to cross the stripe. Borofski got the team out to a good start as she ran a 4:34.4 opening leg, followed by McAdams who ran a 4:49.7 1500m. Lastra and Buonfiglio completed the relay for the Skyhawks clocking in at 4:46.2 and 4:55.75, respectively.

The squad of Tulie Finley-Moise (Lexington, Massachusetts/Lexington), Emily Polvere (Somers, New York/Somers), Hannah Ameen (Andover, Massachusetts/Andover), and Olivia Dexter (East Calais,Vermont/Union 32) finished 20th out of 39 teams with a time of 1:44.68. The Skyhawks were the first Division II team to cross the finish line.

The 4x100-meter relay placed 29th out of 42 teams with a time of 49.86. Finley-Moise, Polvere, Ameen, and Dexter were the runners in the relay.

Stonehill will compete at Tufts University tomorrow, Saturday, April 2 in the Tufts Snowflake Classic with a start time of 10 a.m.
