Senior All-American Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) will compete in two events at the Indoor Championships for the third straight year, having earned All-America honors in the 3000-meter run (2nd team) and 4000-meter distance medley relay last year. After running the 3000 her first two trips to nationals, Borofski is seeded sixth in the one mile run and will compete in the second of two preliminary sections on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (EST). The top three finishers in each of the two heats, plus the next three fastest times combined will advance to Saturday's final at 4:15 p.m. (EST).

Borofski is competing at her ninth NCAA Division II Championship event, having run at four cross country championships, three indoor championships and two outdoor track & field championships. She is a six-time All-American, having earned second team honors for the 3000-meter run with her 12th place finish a year ago (9:46.84) and first team honors with the DMR as she anchored the relay to a program-best sixth place finish (11:35.05) last March.

Borofski is coming off dominant performances at the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Championships and New England Championships over the previous two events leading into the NCAA Championships. The NE10 Championships Track Athlete of the Meet, won her 12th and 13th straight NE10 individual championships with her first place finishes in the mile (4:51.00) and 3000m (9:53.96) – both NE10 Championship records. She followed that up with her fifth and sixth consecutive New England titles in the mile (4:49.71) as well as the DMR (11:39.41) at the New England Championships two weeks ago.

Borofski will anchor the women's DMR which is seeded tenth at the NCAA Championships for the third straight year with the finals in that event scheduled for Friday at 6:55 p.m. (EST). She will be joined on the relay by sophomores Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle & Cassidy) and Jillian Caiazzi (Marlborough, Massachusetts/Marlborough) as well as freshman Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy), who are all making their NCAA Indoor Championships debuts. Lastra, who ran at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Florida in November, will run the opening 1200-meter leg, followed by Fernandes for the 400-meter leg and Caiazzi, a late substitution for senior All-American Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) who ran the 1200-meter leg the last two years, will run the 800-meter leg before Borofski completes the one mile anchor.

Caiazzi, Fernandes and Lastra joined Borofski in collecting individual All-East Region honors this season. Caiazzi collected the honors for the 800-meter run with her personal-best time of 2:16.34, while Fernandes did so in the 400-meters (57.13) and Lastra for the 3000-meter run (10:04.55) as well as for the DMR. Borofski collected All-Region honors for the mile, 3000m and DMR to give her 20 career All-Region awards.

The Stonehill women's track and field program captured its fourth straight Northeast-10 Indoor Championship last month and then followed that up with a ninth place finish at the New England Championships this past weekend. The women's cross country and track & field programs have now won five straight NE10 Championships, including cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field, and ten of the last 11 NE10 Championships dating back to 2013.
