Women second, Men fifth in USTFCCCA East Regional Poll
NE10 Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll
EASTON, Mass. (February 16, 2017) – The Stonehill College men's and women's track and field team will compete in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday, February 18 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Athletic Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The women are currently ranked No. 2 in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II East Regional Computer Rankings, while the men are placed fifth.
The women captured its third NE10 Indoor Track and Field title in program history last February is selected to finish second in the leagues' pre-Championship Coaches Poll with 102 points and four first-place votes. Southern Connecticut State University, was once again selected to finish first in the conference tallying 105 points and seven first-place votes. Merrimack College followed the Skyhawks recording 93 votes and one first-place vote, while American International College received 78 points securing fourth and Adelphi University rounded out the top five tallying 65 points.
The men stunned the field in 2013 as the squad claimed its first NE10 Championship title in program history, while previously the team has earned fourth (2016), third (2015) and second (2014). From the pre-championship Coaches' poll, the men were marked to finish third receiving 77 points and one first-place vote. Southern Connecticut State University was also tabbed first on the men's side tallying 94 points with four first-place votes, while American International College ranks second with 93 points and six first-place votes. Rounding out the top five is Franklin Pierce University, ranked fourth with 76 points and Merrimack College placing fifth with 66 points.

Borofski aims to capture third-straight 3000-meter title |
Senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) has surpassed two NCAA provisional marks this season. She ranks first in the conference in the mile and the 3000-meter run with times of 4:51.00 and 9:42.60, respectively. Borofski is also a two-time NE10 Champion in the mile, while also earning the title of the 3000m last year.
Sophomore Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vt./Union 32) ranks in the top five in the conference in three events including the 60-meter dash, the 200-meter sprint and the long jump. Dexter bypassed an NCAA provisional mark in the 200 with a time of 25.04 a week ago putting her fifth in the conference, while she is also second in the long jump with a distance of 5.54m (17ft, 10.75inch) and third in the 60 with a time of 7.75 ranking third. Dexter aims to be multifaceted this season, as she only finished in the top five in the 60-meter dash in last year's championship with a fourth-place mark.
Sophomore Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) recorded a personal best mark of 1.66m (5ft, 5.25inch) in the high jump, while also bypassing the NCAA provisional qualification and sitting second in the conference. Freshman Madison Ward (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) also hit a personal best and bypassed the NCAA provisional in the high jump with a height of 1.65m (5ft, 5inch), ranking her third in the conference. Ward also ranks 15th in the conference in the triple jump with a mark of 10.56m (34ft, 7.75inch). Daggett looks to earn All-Conference once again, as she placed second in the high jump at last year's championship.
Tulie Finley-Moise (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) ranks in the top-20 in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter run. The senior is ranked eighth in the 200m with a time of 25.62 as she also ranks 18th in the 60m with a time of 8.06.
Freshman Shayla Lyons (Westerlo, N.Y./Bishop Maginn and Berne-Knox Westerlo) will me making her first conference championship appearance as she is second in the NE10 and top freshman in the shotput throwing her best distance of 13.20m (43ft, 3.75inch).
Four-time NE10 Track Rookie of the Week Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) aims to make a strong first appearance at the championship as she battles in the 1000-meter run and the one mile run. The freshman ranks second in the 1000 and seventh in the mile event.
Stonehill's time in the distance medley relay tops all NE10 squads as they also bypassed the NCAA provisional time at the Boston University Scarlet and White Invitational. The women have recorded seven first-place finishes in the past 12 years in the championship. The women also aim to keep the tradition of the 4x800-meter relay as they have won five consecutive titles since 2012 and nine first-place marks in the past 12 years. Both relays rank first in the conference.

MEN:
Senior Joe Santo (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport) tops all NE10 runners in the 5000-meter race, as he returns to the championship to top his second-place finish last year.
Anthony Innamorati (Clinton, Mass./Clinton) is ranked fifth in the pole vault event. The junior came close to capturing All-Conference honors last year with his third-place finish in the event.
Sophomore Stephen Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) ranks sixth in the conference in the 800-meter run and 18th in the 1000-meter event. Vercollone also aims to slide onto the All-Conference team since finishing third in last year's championship.
Sophomore Darren Shi (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) found his way up the conference rankings this season in the shotput as he threw for a personal best distance of 44 ft., 11 inch. this season.
Stefan Balestra (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) also is in the top marks in the field events as he ranks third in the conference. The junior also tossed a personal best mark of 51ft 9.75 inch this season.
Andrew Scarlotto (Portsmouth, N.H./Portsmouth) will be appearing in his first championship meet as he will run in the 400-meter race, previously clocking in at 49.70 this season. Scarlotto is the only freshman in the top six, as he ranks sixth in the conference.
Junior Jordan Sullivan (Sound Beach, N.Y./Miller Place) finished seventh at last years' championship and aims to sneak into the top-five as he is ranked sixth in the conference in the high jump. Sullivan posted his career-best this season with a height of 1.95m (6ft, 4.75inch).
The Skyhawks men's 4x800-meter relay tops all squads in the conference this season with a time of 8:06.84. In program history, Stonehill has won the event twice (2009, 2008) in the past 10 years and has capture second place in three of the 10 years, including 2015, 2013 and 2012.
Following the NE10 Championships, Stonehill will compete in the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships from February 24-25 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.
