EASTON, Mass. (January 24, 2017) – Stonehill College women's track and field freshman Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Track Rookie of the Week for her second award, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

This past weekend, Lastra competed in her first 3000-meter run and earned second place with a time of 10:15.94 in the URI Sorlein Invitational. This mark bypassed both the NE10 and New England qualifications.

Lastra received her first award after opening up her first collegiate indoor track and field meet on Saturday, January 14 at the Beantown Challenge, hosted by Harvard University. The freshman posted a personal best time of 5:10.95 in the mile run finishing eighth in the 20 runner event. The Bridgton, Maine native finished behind seven Division I institutions including UMass Lowell, Harvard, UMass Amherst, Northeastern, and Rutgers. This was also the third best time in the NE10 that weekend.

Stonehill is back in action this weekend when it competes at both the John Thomas Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University, as well as the Tufts Stampede, hosted by Tufts University, with both events starting at 11 a.m.
