2016 NCAA II Outdoor Track & Field Championships Schedule & Entry Lists

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 25, 2016) – Stonehill College junior All-Americans Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) and Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) are set to represent the women's track & field program at the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Tampa and IMG Academy, at IMG Academy Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Borofski, who is competing at the seventh NCAA Championship of her career, will run the 3000-meter steeplechase for the second straight year. McAdams, who is making her sixth career NCAA Championships appearance, will be competing at the outdoor championships for the first time in the 1500-meter run. Both runners will compete in the preliminary rounds on Thursday, with the goal to advance to event finals on Friday and Saturday. Borofski, who earned second team All-America honors with an 11^th place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Allendale, Michigan, is seeded fifth for the event this week with her school-record time of 10:21.64 at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University in April to automatically qualify for the championships for the first time in her career. She also provisionally qualified for the 1500 and 5000-meter runs, but has opted to concentrate on the steeplechase. The preliminary heats for the event are scheduled for 7:55 p.m., on Thursday. The top four finishers from both prelims, plus the next four fastest times will advance to Friday's steeplechase final at 7:30 p.m.

Borofski, who is one of two student-athletes in Stonehill history to earn All-America honors for cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field, looks to become the first to earn all three in the same academic year this weekend. The four-time All-American finished 39^th (21:26.0/6K) at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Joplin, Missouri, in November, then was part of Stonehill's 4000-meter distance medley relay that finished sixth in a school-record 11:35.05 and then earned second team All-America honors for the 3000-meter run with her 12^th place finish (9:46.84) at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas, in March.

Borofski swept Women's Athlete of the Year honors for the Northeast-10 and East Region during the cross country season last fall after winning the individual titles at the NE-10 Championship and NCAA East Regional Championship. She won the New England 3000-meter steeplechase title two weeks ago after winning NE-10 titles for both the 1500-meter and 5000-meter runs the week before and also captured New England indoor titles for both the DMR and 3000-meters in February after winning NE-10 championships for the one mile run and 3000. Borofski is a 16-time All-East Region performer by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), six-time All-New England and 12-time All-Northeast-10 performer over her career, winning all five NE-10 Championship races she competed in this year (cross country, indoor mile and 3000m, outdoor 1500m and 5000m) and nine straight overall dating back to a second place finish at the 2014 NE-10 Cross Country Championships.

McAdams earned All-America honors for the first time in her career as part of Stonehill's 4000-meter distance medley relay at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in March, will compete individually at an NCAA Championships for the first time in her career after opting out of the indoor mile to concentrate on the DMR this winter. She is seeded 15^th in the 1500-meter run this weekend with her personal-best time of 4:29.34 in her second place finish, behind only Borofski, at the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships earlier this month. She would go on to win the New England Championship for the event two weeks ago in 4:33.35, to earn All-New England honors for the sixth time in her career.

McAdams' 1500-meter prelims will be run on Thursday at 6:10 p.m., with the top four from each qualifying heat, plus the next four fastest times advancing to Saturday's event final at 5:45 p.m. McAdams, a 12-time All-Region performer by the USTFCCCA, has competed at three straight NCAA Cross Country Championships, with a personal-best finish of 154^th (23:27.7/6K) in 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky, to go with a pair of NCAA Indoor Championships appearances with the DMR in 2015 and 2016. In addition to qualifying in the mile this winter, she provisionally qualified in the 3000-meter run as well and is a two-time New England Champion, a four-time NE-10 Champion and 11-time All-Northeast-10 Conference performer.

The Stonehill women's track & field program captured its second Northeast-10 Outdoor Championship this spring to go with an eighth place finish at the New England Championships after winning the Skyhawk Invitational in April. The Skyhawks have swept NE-10 titles this year in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field for the second time in three years. Hall of Fame head coach Karen Boen collected East Region Coach of the Year honors from the USTFCCCA for cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field as well.
