Daggett earns Field Rookie of the Week, while Dexter named Track Rookie of the Week

EASTON, Mass.  (April 18, 2016) – Stonehill College freshmen Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Massachusetts/Attleboro) and Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vermont/U-32) have earned NE-10 Weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, the league office announced today.

Daggett has been named the Field Rookie of the Week for the third time this season and third week consecutively. The Attleboro, Massachusetts native broke a program record that had stood for six years in the high jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship next month after clearing 5-feet, 7.25-inches at the Minutemen Invitational on Saturday. The height is also the top recorded in the NE-10 so far this season.

A 2015 graduate of Attleboro High School in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Daggett qualified for the divisional championship in the high jump in both her junior and senior year. She also qualified for States her senior year. Daggett was Awarded the Hockomock scholar athlete award her senior year as well as being named to the Sun Chronicle All-Star team.

Dexter collects Track Rookie of the Week for the second time this season and second week consecutively. The East Calais, Vermont native set a new school record in the 100-meter dash on Saturday at the Minutemen Invitational, racing to a time of 12.21 seconds, good for first place.

A 2015 graduate of U-32 High School in East Calais, Vermont, Dexter competed in track and field as a sprinter and a jumper. Her high school won a State Championship her sophomore and senior year where she was named to the All-Vermont team her senior year.

Stonehill will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University, and the Holy Cross Invitational, hosted by the College of the Holy Cross.
