4x100 named Relay of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (April 12, 2016) – Stonehill College freshmen Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Massachusetts/Attleboro), Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vermont/U-32) and the women's 4x100-meter relay team have earned NE-10 Weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, the league office announced yesterday.

Daggett was named Field Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, while Dexter and the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Emily Polvere (Somers, New York/Somers), freshman Hannah Ameen (Andover, Massachusetts/Andover), junior Tulie Finley-Moise (Lexington, Massachusetts/Lexington) and Dexter, earn Track Rookie of the Week and Relay of the week, respectively, for the first time this season.

Daggett wins Field Rookie of the Week after having placed second in the high jump on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, leaping 5-feet, 3-inches to match her best height of the outdoor season.

A 2015 graduate of Attleboro High School in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Daggett qualified for the divisional championship in the high jump in both her junior and senior year. She also qualified for States her senior year. Daggett was Awarded the Hockomock scholar athlete award her senior year as well as being named to the Sun Chronicle All-Star team.

Dexter wins Track Rookie of the Week after a terrific showing at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, placing second out of 72 entries in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.58 seconds, and running the anchor leg of the 4x100-meter relay that took first place in 49.02 seconds.

A 2015 graduate of U-32 High School in East Calais, Vermont, Dexter competed in track and field as a sprinter and a jumper. Her high school won a State Championship her sophomore and senior year and she named to the All-Vermont team her senior year.

The women's 4x100 meter-relay won the event on Saturday with a time of 49.02 seconds. Finley-Moise ran the lead leg, followed by Polvere, and Ameen and Dexter ran the anchor leg, edging out Bridgewater State University by a little over a second.

Stonehill will compete in two events next weekend, starting Friday night at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, and then at the Minuteman Invitational, hosted by the University of Massachusetts, on Saturday.
