Daggett Named NE-10 Field Rookie of the Week

Attleboro, Mass. native posted an eighth place finish last Saturday at the 51st Annual Colonial Relays

EASTON, Mass. (April 4, 2016) – Stonehill College freshman Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Massachusetts/Attleboro) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Rookie of the Week for women's outdoor track & field, it was announced today by the league office.

Daggett and the Skyhawks competed at the 51st Annual Colonial Relays last Saturday, finishing 34th against primarily Division I competition with five points.

The Attleboro, Massachusetts native contributed one point towards Stonehill's team score with an eighth-place finish in the high jump, leaping 5-feet, 3-inches, which puts her among the top three in the high jump in the NE-10.

This is the first time Daggett has been recognized with Field Rookie of the Week honors for the outdoor season, having previously been named the 2016 NE-10 Field Rookie of the Year for the indoor season.

A 2015 graduate of Attleboro High School in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Daggett qualified for the divisional championship in the high jump in both her junior and senior year. She also qualified for States her senior year. Daggett was Awarded the Hockomock scholar athlete award her senior year as well as being named to the Sun Chronicle All-Star team. 

Stonehill, which is ranked first in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region Computer Rankings, returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Springfield, Mass. to participate in the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by American International College.
