EASTON, Mass. (March 1, 2016) – 11 student-athletes from the Stonehill College women's track & field team have earned a total of 16 All-East Region honors, it was announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events.

Junior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) and classmate Aisha McAdams (North Kingston, Rhode Island/North Kingston) led the way for Stonehill with three nods apiece. Both were recognized for their efforts in the 4000-meter distance medley relay, while the duo also captured All-Region honors for the 3000-meter and 1-mile events.

Borofski and McAdams have now posted six All-East Region performances in their careers, as they were recognized a season ago for the distance medley relay, 3000-meter run and 1-mile run. The junior duo will be in Pittsburg, Kansas on March 11-12 as a part of Stonehill's third DMR to compete at the NCAA Championships. The DMR qualified with a school-record time of 11:36.33 and currently owns the second fastest time in the country. Borofski has also provisionally qualified in an individual event, as she's met the standards in the 3000-meter run and is ranked 17th with a time of 9:41.75, a school record.

Seniors Erin Carberry (Milton, Massachusetts/Thayer Academy) and Jordan Gray (Warwick, Rhode Island/Toll Gate) posted three All-Region performances between them. Carberry is being recognized for her efforts in the 800-meter run and distance medley relay, while Gray is also being honored for her efforts in the distance medley relay.

Carberry collects her first two All-East-Region accolades after posting her personal-best time of 2:16.25 seconds in the 800-meter run at the NE-10 Championships, and for her efforts in the DMR. Gray turned in an All-Region performance in the 400-meter portion of the distance medley relay at the New England Championships, giving her six awards for her career.

Seniors Jeana Esernio (Stony Brook, New York/Ward Melville) and Trisha Pierson (East Hanover, New Jersey/Hanover Park), junior Alexandra Buonfiglio (Lynnfield, Massachusetts/Lynnfield), sophomores Emily Knox (Worcester, Massachusetts/Notre Dame Academy), Gaelin Farrell (Baldwinville, Massachusetts/Narragansett Regional) and Alison Tobin (Hudson, Massachusetts/Hudson) and freshman Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Massachusetts/Attleboro) round out Stonehill's 11 All-East Region performers for the 2015-16 indoor season, as they earned one award each.

Esernio posted her fifth career All-Region effort with her effort in the 60-meter hurdles, placing second overall at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 9.08 seconds. Pierson, who earned All-Region status in the shot put with her school record throw of 41-feet, 5.75-inches at the NE-10 Championships, also earned All-Region honors last winter in the same event. Tobin is also collecting her second All-East-Region honors after clearing 10-feet, 6-inches in the pole vault which set a school record.

Earning the first All-East Region honors of their career are Knox in the 5000-meter run, Buonfiglio in the 1-mile run, Farrell in the shot put and Daggett in the high jump. Daggett set a new school record in the high jump, finishing sixth in the event with a height of 5-feet, 5-inches on February 13th at the Valentine Invitational.

Stonehill will cap its indoor season on March 11-12 when its qualified individuals will compete at the NCAA DII Track & Field Championships, held at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
