Women’s Track & Field DMR Places Eighth At BU Valentine Invitational


McAdams ran the 1200-meter portion of the relay at yesterdays BU Valentine Invitational

Skyhawk DMR posts time of 11:53.69, 13th fastest time recorded in the Country

BOSTON, Mass. (February 14, 2016) – Stonehill College's women's 4000-meter distance medley relay team kicked off day two of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center, and provisionally qualified for the 2016 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The relay team, consisting of senior All-American Jordan Gray (Warwick, Rhode Island/Toll Gate), juniors Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) and Alexandra Buonfiglio (Lynnfield, Massachusetts/Lynnfield) and freshman Elizabeth Hannon (Franklin, Massachusetts/Bishop Feehan) placed eighth in the event and posted a time of 11:53.69, the second fastest time run in the NE-10 this year (behind the Stonehill 'A' team) and the 13th fastest time in the nation.

McAdams ran the opening 1200-meter leg in 3:37.6, before handing off to Gray, who completed the 400-meter leg in 57.4 seconds. Hannon, who was making her DMR debut took the baton next and completed the 800-meter portion in 2:20.6, before Buonfiglio ran the mile anchor leg in 4:58.3.

Stonehill will look to defend its NE-10 Indoor Track & Field Championship next weekend at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
