BOSTON, Mass. (January 31, 2015) – Stonehill College's women's 4000-meter distance medley relay team made its season debut this morning to open day two of the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center, and provisionally qualified for the 2015 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The relay team, consisting of senior All-American Maria Curit (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford), junior Jordan Gray (Warwick, Rhode Island/Toll Gate), and sophomores Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) and Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) won the event and posted a time of 11:43.44 to meet the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships to be held at the CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Alabama, in March.

Stonehill's effort was just 1.65 seconds off the program record time of 11:41.79 set at the New England Championships last winter on the same track, and just 7.16 seconds shy of meeting the automatic qualifying standard (11:36.28) for the NCAA Championships. Stonehill's time ranks second in all of NCAA DII, behind only Simon Fraser University's mark of 11:40.01.

Making her distance medley relay debut, McAdams ran the opening 1200-meter leg in 3:41, before handing off to Gray, who completed the 400-meter leg in 57.6 seconds. Curit, who provisionally qualified for NCAAs in the 400-meter dash last night, took the baton next and completed the 800-meter portion in 2:09.7, before Borofski, also making her DMR debut, ran the mile anchor leg in 4:54.5.

Stonehill will be back at the University of Rhode Island next Saturday for the second time in three weekends for the Coaches Tribute Meet, held at Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, Rhode Island.
