Anderson, Venturo Make Season Debuts At Jay Carisella Invitational


Senior Emily Anderson placed 14th in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:58.25 in her season debut tonight. 

Senior duo wraps up first semester schedule for Stonehill

BOSTON, Mass. (December 13, 2014) – Seniors Emily Anderson (Manchester, Connecticut/Manchester) and Brittany Venturo (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle & Cassidy) made their season debuts for the Stonehill College women's track & field team this evening at the Jay Carisella Invitational, hosted by Northeastern University at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.

Anderson and Venturo, who were Stonehill's only two entries at tonight's meet, helped the Skyhawks women's cross country program to a 19th-place finish at the NCAA DII Championships in Lousville, Kentucky, last Saturday while the rest of the track & field team opened its season at the 3rd Annual UMass Boston Indoor Open.

Venturo registered a ninth-place effort in the 5000-meter run, clocking in at 19:19.98, while Anderson posted a time of 10:58.25 in the 3000-meter run, good for 14th overall. 

Following tonight's action, Stonehill will be off for over a month, before the Skyhawks get their second semester slate underway on January 17th at the Tufts University Invitational at the Gantcher Athletic Center in Medford, Massachusetts.
