EASTON, Mass. (April 15, 2014) – Stonehill College's 4x400-meter relay has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Relay of the Week for women's track & field, it was announced today by the league office.

The team of juniors Maria Curit (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) and Sarah Wilson (West Suffield, Conn./Suffield) as well as sophomores Jordan Gray (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate) and Leanne Kent (North Andover, Mass./Central Catholic) posted Stonehill's lone event win at the Minuteman Invitational on Saturday, as it placed first in 3:54.60. Gray ran the opening leg in 56.9 seconds, followed by Wilson in 60.4 seconds, Kent in a matching 60.4 mark, and finally Curit completed the anchor leg in 56.4 seconds.

Wilson also registered a second-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.95, which was good enough to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships next month, while Curit competed in the 400-meter dash and the long jump, turning in fourth-place efforts in both.

This marks the second consecutive week that a Stonehill relay has been honored by the Northeast-10. Last week, Stonehill's 4x800-meter relay team of Curit, Wilson, senior Elizabeth LaRegina (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) and junior Emily Anderson (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) was recognized following its fifth-place finish in 9:04.39 at the Colonial Relays.

Curit collects her third NE-10 weekly award of the outdoor season after being honored last week as both the Track Athlete of the Week and with the 4x800 relay, giving her a total of seven this year when combined with her awards from the indoor season. Overall, she has garnered nine weekly awards from the NE-10 in her career. Gray is right behind her with eight weekly honors, while Wilson claims her second consecutive award and third overall. Kent is being honored for the second time in her career, after collecting one Relay of the Week award during the indoor season.

Stonehill, ranked second in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region Computer Rankings, will be back in action on Saturday at the Holy Cross Crusades, hosted by the College of the Holy Cross at Hart Track in Worcester, Mass. Stonehill, which will host its annual home Skyhawk Invitational on Friday, April 25, is also the host of the 2014 Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships at W.B. Mason Stadium on Friday and Saturday, May 2-3.
