EASTON, Mass. (March 7, 2014) – Nine student-athletes from the Stonehill College women's track & field team have earned a total of 15 All-East Region honors, it was announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events.

Senior Elizabeth LaRegina (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) and junior Maria Curit (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) led the way for Stonehill with three nods apiece. Both were recognized for their efforts with the 4000-meter distance medley relay, while LaRegina captured All-Region honors for the 800-meter and 1-mile runs, and Curit earned the accolades for the long jump and 400-meter dash.

LaRegina has now posted four All-East Region performances in her career, as she was also recognized last season for the distance medley relay. Curit's total is now at eight, after being honored as a freshman for the same events as this season, and as a sophomore in the 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay. LaRegina and Curit will be in Winston-Salem, N.C. on March 14-15 as a part of Stonehill's first DMR to compete at the NCAA Championships. The DMR qualified with a school-record time of 11:41.79. Curit will also be one of two Stonehill student-athletes competing in individual events, as she qualified for the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.35 seconds, the tenth-fastest nationally.

Senior Chelsea Bishop (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) and sophomore Jordan Gray (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate) check in next with two honors each. Bishop posted top-5 regional performances in the 1-mile and 5000-meter runs, while Gray did so individually in the 400-meter dash, as well as a part of Stonehill's NCAA Championship qualifying distance medley relay. Bishop collects her second career All-East Region award for the 5000-meter run, as she did so as a junior last season. Gray is also being recognized for the second time in her career, after her selection to the All-Region team last season for the 4x400-meter relay.

Junior Sarah Wilson (West Suffield, Conn./Suffield) will be the second Skyhawk competing in an individual event at the NCAA Championships in two weekends, as she qualified for the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.23, good for 14th nationally. Wilson has now racked up a total of four All-Region honors in her career, as she was recognized last season for the distance medley relay, and as a freshman for the DMR and the 800-meter run. Wilson won the NE-10 Championship in the 800-meter run two weekends ago, before earning All-New England honors last weekend with her third-place finish in the same event.

Senior Emily Regan (Hanson, Mass./Whitman-Hanson) earns her first career All-Region honor for the 5000-meter run, while classmate Meaghan Olin (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) is being recognized for the third consecutive season for the pole vault. Olin placed third at the NE-10 Championship two weekends ago, matching her school-record with a height of ten feet.

Rounding out Stonehill's All-East Region performers are juniors Emily Anderson (Manchester, Conn./Manchester), and Brianna Venturo (Taunton, Mass./Coyle Cassidy). Venturo earns her first All-Region honor for the 1-mile run, while Anderson is being recognized for Stonehill's NCAA Championship-qualifying DMR.
