McBride sets a new personal best in 5,000-meter run

PRINCETON, N.J. (April 20, 2012) – Two members of the Stonehill College women's track and field team competed at the Larry Ellis Memorial Invitational, hosted by Princeton University, at Weaver Stadium tonight.

Junior Caroline McBride (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) posted a new personal best in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:48.24 finishing 64th overall out of 98 competitors. The junior shattered her previous career-best, outdoors, of 18:06.73 set at last year's Larry Ellis Memorial Invitational.

Senior Kristen Mahoney (Weymouth, Mass./Weymouth) placed 80th overall with a time of 18 minutes and 11.52 seconds.

The remaining members of the Stonehill team will be in action on Saturday at the Holy Cross Crusades in Worcester starting at 11 a.m.
