BOSTON, Mass. (January 29, 2010) - The Stonehill College women's indoor track and field placed 14th at the Reebok Boston Collegiate Indoor Games, hosted by Northeastern University, at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center tonight. The Skyhawks were fourth among NCAA Division II and III programs at the event and first among NCAA Division II competition.

Stonehill compiled six points in the event, which was won by host Northeastern University with 135.25. The University of South Florida was second with 112 points, with the University of Massachusetts Amherst taking third with 82.

Freshman Erin Carmone (Riverside, R.I./East Providence), an All-American in cross country in her first collegiate season, led the way for Stonehill with a fifth-place finish out of 50 competitors in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:12.95.

Junior Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan Area) took tenth out of 45 runners in the 800-meters with a time of 2:20.88.

Other results for Stonehill today included:

Senior Kathryn O'Leary (Rensselaer, N.Y./Columbia) placed 13th out of 34 sprinters in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:20.11, followed by sophomore Christen Carrier (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central) in 16th with a time of 1:20.63.

Freshman Kathryn Bernazzani (Norwood, Mass./Norwood) finished 14th out of 41 runners in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 8.93-seconds.

Sophomore Jill Alves (Whitman, Mass./Whitman-Hanson) took 14th out of 42 runners in the mile with a time of 5:13.64, followed closely by freshman Kristen Veit (Easthampton, Mass./Holyoke Catholic) in 16th place in 5:17.57.

Freshman Jessica Jarrard (Shrewsbury, Mass./Hudson Catholic) finished 18th (out of 50) in the 3000-meters in 10:36.20, with classmate Lynley Joynt (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland) right behind in 19th in 10:36.92.

Freshman Alexis Monahan (Swoyersville, Pa./Holy Redeemer) placed 20th in the 1000-meters in 3:14.02.

Stonehill is right back in action tomorrow at the Terrier Classic at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center beginning at 9 a.m.
