Stonehill Women Take Third At NE-10 Championships

Lowell, Mass. - The Skyhawks captured a third place finish at the Northeast-10 Championships hosted by UMass-Lowell behind two first place finishes and a new school record.

Freshman Erica Insel (Clinton, N.J) broke her own mark in the javelin for the second time this season as she threw it a distance of 122 feet five inches and also captured a first place finish in the process.   

Stonehill's other first place finish came in the 4x800 relay. Taking the crown with a time of 9:40.42 was the quartet of Kristina Coriaty (Brockton, Mass.), sophomore Lindsey Booth (Franklin, Mass.), freshman Jill Alves (Whitman, Mass.) and freshmen Susan O'Connell (East Greenwich, R.I.). 

The Skyhawks other relay took second in the 4x400. The group of freshmen Dana Butler (Holliston, Mass.) and Christen Carrier (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomores Hilary Curtis (Scarborough, Maine) and Lindsey Pinkham (Skowhegan, Maine) finished in a time of 4:11.35 

Senior Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) finished second in the steeple chase with a time of 11:22.72 while Colleen Carmen (Drexel Hill, Pa.) took second in the high jump with a jump of 5'1".
